Dead Cat Bounce?

If you have been conscious today you probably heard somewhere about the giant rise in the world stocks today due to Citibank reporting a profit. How much of that profit comes from the $45 billion dollars in bailout money from the taxpayers is a topic for another day. At least it is a good break from the depressing news of the past two weeks.

K' thanx for this lesson short and sweet - yet I must confess that I needed to do a bit of reading 9which I did - lol)... I even found a graph explaining the "dead meow bounce" phenomenon...

On an unrelated topic... needed to vent -- I'm supposed to be in mourning for a priest friend of our family (the late Rev. Fr. Francis Michael Clifford an independent Traditional priest) but for the life of me when I turned on the news and I saw Mr. B. Madoff -- I just couldn't help but have these mixed emotions of frustration, anger, and sadness... and my mind is screaming --- this is just plain "LEGALIZED GOVERNMENTAL LOOTING" PERIOD! Or if one is a gambling person... Wall Street has become the new 'Vegas and Atlantic City" 0_o

There or here is me again with me insisting that we put morality (God's Morality) in the economic equation... how do we regulate economics without going over board? Who will watch the "WATCHMEN of Economics"

Funny thing is --- I live in an age of extreme apathy and bitterness.... I feel like flying to the moon this Spring (if ever Spring decides to come at all/!? LoL)

I really don't know whether ignorance or playing ignorant is bliss in our current global mess... you know wherein I decide that I go my merry way and pretend all is well in "my world" -- but for the life of me I just can NOT because that will just catapult me to my early death (spiritual death).

Doing a paper on the pros and cons of having a Universal Health Care (at least having the basic health coverage for all) and it's short and long term effects on the economy... interesting and entertaining and I tell you this 19 year old lady might have a couple of gray hairs when I'm done with it... LoL

Here's a link -- first I did the research using my uni's database and then I tried to find out if the source is available for public consumption... here's the article I found which I will use as a skeleton for my paper... http://www.tnr.com/politics/story.html?id=1b7072d2-4044-4a81-b8ea-cdadfd21e3b5

The article is called the DYNAMIC DUO by a Political Periodical or magazine called THE NEW REPUBLIC

Now, I know that Economics utilizes some form of speculation but as human beings we can speculate intelligibly well, my question is will this form of Universal Health Care (Basic Coverage) work? Not looking for a perfect system but we must find a way to improve what we have ---
will you please, try and read the article -- it's real short and kindly give your input via your blog --- thanks...

Finding your blog through friends of friends.. is a blessing in disguise indeed... because truly in a way you have helped open my eyes (like I wrote or said somewhere) to the wonderful world of Economics and Ryan H. in the wonderful world of Philosophy...

PS

Kindly remember the soul of the late Rev. Fr. Francis Michael Clifford in your prayer... thanks... :-)

PPS

I have a gaziilion questions on how to clearly define terms when we (my imaginary Universal Health Care Reform Commision) how to convince the heath care providers/workers/ and medical goods/supply people, pharmaceutical companies, those people in charge of diagnostics from labs. to diagnostic and radiological imaging -- and incorporate preventive medicine... how to regulate and monitor the pool of money once it gets going...

How do I sell a Catholic framework of Basic Health Care Coverage... would it include abortion contraception-- since some might argue and bring in a provision for extreme cases... what if I suggest -- Basic Health care Coverage does not allow for governmentally financed abortion Period! But I know I will be blocked.-- I will be blocked if I refused to include in my Universal Health Care Coverage abortion and contraception... LoL

So, yea--my paper is gonna look good on paper but it will just be that! Good on paper :-D

Let's say I spearheaded this my Utopian Universal Basic Utopian Health Care Reform -- what constitutes Basic Health Care Services and please, let's include a Universal Basic Dental Care Services as well...

Now if people wanted a more comprehensive coverage then, they need to buy it or contribute on their own... and work it out with their employers...

EQUALITY will be ringing high --- I will be eaten alive -- but folks there is really no such thing as PERFECT EQUALITY --- that is Utopian as well! hahahah!
